Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Same question every time: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code won't affect it.
What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. That's all it does.
What's the bonus amount?
A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.
Deposit $2,000 for $400 bonus.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. That's for serious capital.
UK traders funding in pounds start at click here £160 on £800. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
You can open an account with $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
Finding the partner code field
When you're signing up. After you enter your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. The field expands. Type **128979**.
People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.
If you see an error, it's fine. Complete your registration. Reach out to your account manager first. Ask them to add code 128979. They do this manually all the time.
The bonus has conditions
There's a volume requirement.
Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Active traders hit it quicker than expected.
The deposit belongs to you. Access it whenever you need. Only the bonus has the restriction.
Worth mentioning: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
